Absolutely. We’re located in a quiet rural neighborhood with a few cabins nearby and plenty of space in between. That said, you're staying in the Virginia mountains—so it's totally normal to see wildlife like deer, bears, or even the occasional snake. We maintain regular pest control and provide expert guidance in our digital welcome guide from a local wildlife specialist. It’s all part of the experience, and most guests love feeling immersed in nature while still being well-prepared.
Very reliable. We have fiber optic internet with speeds around 400 Mbps, which is excellent for remote work, streaming, or uploading photos. That said, mountain storms can occasionally knock out power, not just Wi-Fi—especially in winter if a tree takes out a power line. Most guests never notice a thing, but just in case, we recommend saving offline access to any essentials. Cell service is solid—we consistently get 5G on-site (carrier dependent).
Yes! We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs. The cabin is stocked with pet-friendly amenities including paw towels, extra blankets, food and water bowls, and a medium-sized dog bed with a freshly washed liner between each stay. Waste bags are also provided for walks. Dogs don’t need to be leashed on the property itself, but please note that leashes are required in town and on all nearby hiking trails. We’re confident your pup will love the space to roam and relax.
Check-in is completely contactless. You’ll get a unique door code and our full digital welcome guide ahead of time. Important note: GPS will get you close, but Google and Apple Maps sometimes misroute you up a neighboring driveway that isn’t passable. We include custom directions in your digital guide that will get you there without a hitch. Please follow them closely.
You’re in the Blue Ridge Mountains—so yes, some guests spot bugs, and a few lucky ones have seen bears from the deck. We treat the property regularly for pests, and our digital guide includes bear safety and snake awareness tips from a local wildlife expert. Most critters stay out of sight, but we want you to feel confident, not caught off guard.
The driveway is gravel with a steep incline right at the beginning but it levels out—perfectly fine for most vehicles year-round. In winter or during heavy rain, 4WD or AWD is helpful. You’ll have free parking directly at the cabin.
